Debut Novel

I am so excited to share my current project!

"Losing My Skin" is a captivating dual POV fantasy novel that reimagines selkie folklore while delving into the complexities of modern healthcare and chronic pain. Discover a world where magic meets reality told through two powerful, resilient female characters in Alexandra’s debut novel. Though centuries separate their lives, a unique connection pulls the thread of their souls towards the answers they both need.

Callan is pursuing her PhD in anthropology while suffering from a chronic pain disorder. All while juggling work and school, she navigates through the United State’s broken healthcare system trying to find answers to her pain. After exhausting all treatment methods, Callan is led to hypnosis. What she soon discovers is just how much our souls hold onto.

Eilidh is a selkie living a peaceful life in the Celtic Sea off the coast of Ireland. On her 21st year, when the moon is full and the tide low, she is forced to participate in a ritual first shedding. After she is stripped of her skin, her selkie identity, and her fae magick, she must remain human and live a life bound to her captor by invisible chains.
